workshops with toi taniwha

Mauri ora!

This outdoor photography workshop is an immersion into slow, intentional image making in te taiao.

The day centres on building trust, in your camera, your eye, and your relationship to place. We’ll work outdoors at Piha, moving between awa and beach, learning to work with natural light, photograph people with care, and create images that hold feeling.

This waananga is suited to photographers who want to deepen their practice through observation and experience, whether you're early in your journey or ready to move beyond surface level shooting. The day is hands-on, spacious, and whenua-led, with time to rest, ask questions, and create together. We'll close by me taking a portrait of each of you in te taiao.

This is workshop 2.0 following our For The People workshop held in October 2025.
